AIRTRICITY
Mission Statement from their website:
Airtricity is a fully integrated renewable electricity utility specialising in the development and long term ownership of onshore and offshore wind farms. The Group currently has 455MW of generating capacity in operation across four countries, with a further 636MW in construction and to be operational by early 2008. In addition to projects in operation and in construction, the Group has a development pipeline of more than 9,000MW. As an integrated utility, the Group has developed market-specific approaches to selling the electricity generated. For example, across the island of Ireland this electricity is sold directly to over 35,000 commercial customers through Airtricity’s supply business.
Airtricity has significant growth plans with the portfolio of assets it is planning to roll out in Europe and North America. The Group is now in a position to capitalise on the last nine years of development and is well positioned within the wind sector to deliver attractive returns based on this portfolio approach. Airtricity is also eager to establish partnerships or joint ventures with other project developers throughout Europe to exploit the opportunities presented by the expected growth in demand for renewables.
Bottom line: Make as much money as possible.....who cares about those stupid hicks who live in Meredith NY!

Why should we fear these companies? These companies have only one goal, TO MAKE PROFITS! They do not have our interests even on the radar screen. It is profits at all costs! Who should we worry about the most? DCEC! They have the support of town officials, county government and other insiders within Delaware County. They also want to sell the projects to outside entities like Invenergy and Airtricity.
I have heard that DCEC wants to use the easements through my property. Is this true and what does this mean to me?
DCEC representatives have admitted that they plan to use these easements to install poles and lines to transport electricity from wind facilities to their substations. They have not informed any landowners of their plans. Want to see what these lines look like at another wind facility! Click Here for power line pictures
What should we do?
There is much residents of Meredith can do!
- Become visable. Not wanting to be known as a supporter only helps the wind companies.
- Become vocal. Voice your opinion loudly
- Write letters to your elected officials and to newspapers
- If you are an REA member, voice your opposition to Greg Starheims plans for the Coop
- Donate money to the fight to save Meredith and Delaware County
